MLK, JR. Day on Google

Wow, Google is really doing a bit too much with this one. I won't even talk about my take on this racist, white supremacist capitalist nation's veneration of MLK, Jr. except to say that Dr. King sure wasn't talking about his dreams, nor preaching non-violence when he was assassinated. In fact, I believe he'd begun to take a more global perspective on the U.S.'s racial tensions, and began to speak out against capitalism, colonialism and imperialism. Of course, we won't be celebrating that part of King's vision today , will we Amerikkka?

You may be correct from a political standpoint, but I consider MLK Jr's speech to be more religiously in-depth. We need to think more of Martin Luther King, Jr. "the message" instead of commending him as Martin Luther King, Jr. "the man". Don't misconstrue what is being said, but reflect and be insightful. I can give an alternate example as more of a religious aspect; Jesus Christ. A numerous amount of people, not just Christians, portray Jesus as a messenger but coincide with him and his words as a person instead of a 'message'. Yes he died for our sins but the reason is so much more powerful than the man. Just a little something to marinate on for all those non-believers and those who already do walk in his path.
