The ticket has been purchased
the visa is on the way.
Jan. 21 at 9:30pm, I will be lifting off and heading to Joburg via London.
For the accomplished international travelers (you know who you are...), any recommendations for flight comfortability? Anything I should definitely make sure to bring. Anything I should definitey NOT bring?
I'm much more excited now, if you couldn't tell.

my only piece of advice:
take advantage of the free booze! especially amarula if you're flying SAA.
anyway i will come down next weekend to send you off properly! ahhh!
another thing:
in-flight entertainment! watch as many movies as you can! i originally missed that part about london so i assume you're flying BA - they always have a good selection.
and if you're getting dinner, enjoy that (quarter) bottle of wine they give you.
others will tell you to drink plenty of water (avoid coffee/tea) and get plenty of rest, and brush up on your in-flight exercises (rotating your neck, ankles, etc) but really all i ever care about are movies and booze.
i miss you already

probably goes without saying, but avoid taking infants ... my only int'l flights involved a 3 month old (on our flight to Germany) and a 15 month old (on the flight back).
You both are so sweet! I love it booze, movies and no children. That has to be the best advice ever. It's why I love you both so much!
